The G road test is the last step to your full Ontario licence. It's longer and more demanding than the G2 test, and it includes expressway driving. Ezee Driving School's MTO-certified instructors prepare you for every part of it with private, one-on-one lessons across Toronto.

Many G2 drivers have been driving for a year or more and feel confident. That's good, but everyday habits often aren't what examiners want to see. Our G lessons polish your driving to test standard and give you real expressway practice on Toronto's busiest highways.

What's different about the G road test

The G test checks everything from the G2 test plus more advanced driving. Expect:

  • Expressway driving: entering, merging, keeping a safe following distance, changing lanes at speed and exiting.
  • Higher-speed roads: roads with 60 to 80 km/h limits, where planning ahead matters more.
  • Complex intersections: multi-lane turns, advance greens and busy left turns.
  • Precise observation: blind-spot checks, mirror use and scanning far ahead.
  • All the basics: complete stops, speed control, parking and roadside stops are still marked.

How our G lessons work

Expressway practice on real highways

Toronto gives us Highway 401, Highway 427, Highway 400, the Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway. We practise merging from short on-ramps, choosing safe gaps, moving with traffic flow and planning exits early, until highway driving feels routine. See our highway driving lessons for more.

Breaking old habits

After a year of driving, small habits creep in: one-handed steering, light rolling stops, lazy shoulder checks. Your instructor marks your driving using the same criteria as DriveTest examiners and helps you replace those habits before test day.

Booster lessons and test-day support

If your test is close or you need another attempt, a booster lesson focuses on exactly what you need. You can also use our car for your test, with a free 45-minute warm-up lesson beforehand.

Where we teach G students

We offer G road test lessons across North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke. Students in downtown Toronto meet their instructor at Kipling, Lawrence West or York Mills subway station.

Tips to pass your G road test

  • Match the speed of traffic on the on-ramp before you merge, and never stop on a ramp unless traffic forces you to.
  • Check your blind spot before every expressway lane change. The examiner watches for it.
  • Leave a safe space cushion of at least two to three seconds at highway speed.
  • Signal early for exits and move into the exit lane well before the ramp.
  • Don't relax after the highway. Many students lose marks on residential streets near the end of the test.
