Looking for a driving school in North York that helps you pass the first time? Ezee Driving School has been teaching North York drivers since 2006. Our MTO-certified instructors give private, one-on-one lessons for G2 and G road tests, newcomers to Canada and anyone who wants to feel safer behind the wheel.

North York is one of the busiest parts of the city to drive in. Yonge Street, Sheppard Avenue, Finch Avenue and the Allen Road carry heavy traffic all day, and Highway 401 runs straight through the middle. That's exactly why learning here works: if you can drive confidently in North York, you can drive anywhere in Ontario. We take you from quiet residential streets to busy arterials step by step, so your confidence grows with your skill.

What makes Ezee different for North York students

  • Close to Downsview DriveTest. We use our car for road tests at the Downsview centre, so we know the area around it well.
  • Lessons that copy the real test. Instructors mark your driving using the same criteria DriveTest examiners use, and explain every mistake clearly.
  • No package pressure. You pay per lesson. After your first lesson, we tell you honestly how many more you need.
  • Flexible scheduling. We teach 7 days a week, with weekend classes for busy schedules.
  • Pick-up and drop-off. We can meet you at home, school, a subway station or work across North York.
  • Safe, comfortable training car. A Toyota Corolla with airbags and full air conditioning.

Our driving lessons in North York

G2 road test lessons

For G1 drivers getting ready for the G2 test. We cover safe stops, scanning intersections, shoulder checks, lane changes, left turns across traffic, school and community safety zones, and all the parking manoeuvres examiners can ask for, including parallel parking, roadside stops and three-point turns.

G road test lessons

For G2 drivers moving up to a full G licence. North York's direct access to Highway 401, the Don Valley Parkway and Highway 400 makes it ideal for practising expressway merges, lane changes at speed and safe exits, which are key parts of the G test.

Newcomer driver training

If you've driven in another country, you don't need to start from scratch. Our newcomer program is a short, intensive course of defensive in-car training, often about five days, focused on Ontario rules and the habits examiners look for. Many North York newcomers use it to get road-test ready quickly.

Booster lessons before your test

Test coming up soon, or failed a previous attempt? Our booster lessons focus only on the skills you need for your very next road test.

Road testing near North York

North York students usually test at one of two centres:

  • Toronto Downsview at Downsview Park, 37 Carl Hall Rd (use the back entrance). Expect a slow zone right outside the lot, fast-moving traffic on Sheppard Avenue West, TTC buses and residential streets with stop signs.
  • Toronto Metro East at 1448 Lawrence Ave E, Unit 15. Expect busy traffic on Lawrence Avenue East and narrow residential streets with parked cars.

Our car for road test service covers Downsview, and includes a warm-up lesson right before your test.

Tips for passing your road test in North York

  • Respect slow zones. Lower speed limits near the test centre, schools and parks catch many students off guard. Read every sign and adjust early.
  • Be patient on left turns. On busy roads like Sheppard and Finch, wait for a safe gap and keep your wheels straight while you wait. Rushing a left turn is one of the most common reasons for failing.
  • Watch for TTC buses. Buses pull in and out of stops constantly. Check mirrors, give them room and be ready to yield.
  • Make every stop a full stop. Rolling through a stop sign is an automatic problem with examiners. Stop fully behind the line, then creep forward to see if needed.
  • Practise expressway habits (G test). Merging onto the 401 or 400 takes confidence and good timing. We practise until it feels routine.

North York traffic can feel intense at first, but with the right preparation it becomes your advantage on test day. Students who train here are used to busy roads, and it shows.
